The Art piece
The original version of this piece was created during a time when suffocating news of violence and injustice around the world reached a new high. During this period, I encountered a photograph by Robert Mapplethorpe depicting two men embracing, which inspired me to illustrate a hug intertwined with vines, plants, and flowers—symbols of connection and stability rooted in nature and the earth.
Love is and always will be what unites us. We are all born of the earth and it is this universal connection that binds us. This piece depicts two men expressing love for one another. Their embrace, framed by nature, speaks to the most fundamental and natural aspect of human connection across boundaries of skin color, gender, sexual orientation, religion, and origin.
Among the flowers, I included the rare Edelweiss flower, a symbol of my home country, Austria - adding another layer of personal connection to this work.

Soundtrack
Songs like Really Love by D’Angelo, Someone to Watch Over Me by Samara Joy, and Vintage by Moses Sumney set a warm, soulful tone while I drew this piece.
